*Written By Mary Knobbe*Okay, so Sander, Mattias, and Chey are all back, and holy heck, if you thought there was drama before, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
The story picks up just a few days after King and Kingdom left off. Sander has decided to bring Chey out of hiding and deal with his parents head on. The king and queen swiftly (and rudely, I might add) decline Sander’s invitation to accept Chey as his newly betrothed. Within days, the nefarious rulers have figured out a way to exile not just Chey but also Sander, permanently. Sander and Mattias must work together quickly to uncover their father’s secrets. Chey isn’t sitting on the sidelines either, and what she discovers might be the biggest secret of all.
Seriously, I read this novel in one sitting. The drama and intrigue of the royal family totally swept me away. The story is twisty and turny. I’m constantly surprised at what happens next. In this third installment, the king definitely ups his evil ante. Sander uncovers murders, mayhem, and many mommy issues. Luckily, his brother Mattias has his back. In the meantime, Chey seems to be going off the deep end emotionally. Despite that, she truly finds the key to ending the king’s reign of terror. In the end, of course, it all works out, but not nearly in the way you think it will. I can’t wait to read the fourth installment. What could possibly happen next?
Plot: 4 stars
It’s always a wild ride with the Latvala royals, and this book was no exception. The fast paced plot left my head spinning. As soon as I thought an issue was resolved, it imploded to become something much worse. That’s what makes these books so fun (besides the sweet love story).
Writing: 3 stars
Listen, I’d really like to give this four stars. Ms. Bourdon sets up wonderful plot twists and definitely keeps the reading exciting. Still, she includes even more diary entries in this book. That’s really the only place the writing falls flat. I’m guessing the diary might be important in the end, but for now I just don’t get it.
Characters: 5 stars
The characters totally make this series. I love Sander, Mattias, and Chey. They work well together. I was super happy to see more of Mattias in this book. (I think he gets his own book later. I definitely have to pick that up.) The introduction of Prince Gunner at the end of the story is interesting. I’m anxious to see where his story arc will go.
Cover: 4 stars
I always feel weird rating the cover (you know….because you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover). Still this one’s pretty solid. The jet and the mystery man in a suit capture the spirit of the book’s glamorous drama.

Heir in Exile Latvala Royals Book 3 edition by Danielle Bourdon Romance eBooks Reviews
I have to be brutally honest I started book one in this AMAZING series simply because it was a Friday night, all 6 kids were asleep and my hubby was snoring so loud my mind was in no way sleeping so I hoped on Facebook and a dear friend a writer Gretchen Roberts recommended your book she said and I quote "be warned highly addictive" grabbing my kindle on a Friday night at midnight I finished book that very night in the wee hours of the morning dazed sleep ridden and fingers itching to grab my kindle the very next morning I again read until I could stop...it's now Monday and my husband is royally neglected the kids are hanging from a ceiling fan somewhere in my home and I think I agreed to things that moms only agree to when caught up in "Sheer Greatness!" BRAVO and Thank You for taking me out of the real world and reality of life on an all consuming FANTASTIC journey of joy, laughter, Sheer Caos, sibling rivalry, bitter battles, and happy endings! sheer brilliant WRITTING and such a highly addictive series would recommend to anyone but be prepared for non stop reading ) "Happy Reading!"
I read the first three books in this series. I had to find out if the two characters actually got together. I read other reviews, but I thought the book was entertaining and really enjoyed the intrigue woven in. I read to escape and enjoy books with humorous dialog - these books had that. Not sure if I will continue on to the next books in this line - not because they weren't well written - I think the characters met my personal reading goals.
I am to caught up in the characters and wanting to see how it all turns out. Laur made me cry. This is the authors gift - the ability yet make you feel as though you know the characters, to create and while emotion. Even while you are rolling your eyes because Chey as smart and competent as she can be - can be just as clueless and take waaayyy to long to clue in. Honestly - I'd have been done long ago. It's the hope that love will overcome every adversity and that true love and absolute loyalty do exist. I'm off to buy the next book.
.. Because I just can't let it go now. Sigh...
What an awesome series. And it’s just that a SERIES. You don’t watch your favorite T.V. show expecting to see the end the first time you watch it. This first book doesn’t end the way you want it to so if you’re not into buying books with in a series then don’t read this one because you will not be able to put it down. You will also be disappointed in how it ends. Now if you’re willing to stick it out in the long run you will be pleasantly surprised. It is an awesome series full of tragedy, compromise, adventure, anxiety, drama, obstacles and most of all romance.
After reading the product reviews for this book I was skeptical. So after reading the first book it became like an addiction I just had to know what was going to happen next. As you go further through-out the series your get to know the characters more. There is not a lot of bad language in this series I think I may have found 2 words with in the 5 books I have read. There is also not a lot of the raunchy sex scenes in this book. Both things I found refreshing.
Just a true romance story, personally I truly enjoyed each and every book. I got so swept up in the books I just couldn’t put it down and found myself reading in the wee hours of the morning.
If you love books in a series you will not be disappointed.
